Mike Gleason stands as a pillar of integrity and commitment to the safety and well-being of Williamson County, Texas. Elected on November 3, 2020, and inaugurated as the 36th Sheriff of Williamson County on January 1, 2021, Mike's journey in law enforcement is deeply intertwined with the fabric of our community, where he and his family have long called home.

From his humble beginnings in Corrections to his ascent as a licensed peace officer, Mike has dedicated over 23 years of his life to serving the residents of Williamson County. Throughout his tenure at the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Mike's leadership prowess has shown through as he climbed the ranks, holding pivotal command positions across every division within the bureaus.

Under the mentorship of five successive Williamson County Sheriffs, Mike's steadfast commitment to excellence and his unwavering dedication to duty have been constants throughout his distinguished career. In his final role as Assistant Chief Deputy, Mike oversaw the intricate operations of our county jail. Responsible for a team of nearly 300 corrections professionals, managing a population of approximately 700 inmates, and stewarding an annual budget exceeding $76.4 million, Mike's leadership was marked by competence and compassion.

Beyond his service within law enforcement, Mike's academic achievements speak volumes about his commitment to professional development. A recipient of the prestigious Dr. M. James Moritz Scholarship from the 100 Club of Texas, a graduate of the esteemed FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, and a product of Sam Houston State University and the Correction Management Institute of Texas, Mike's qualifications are second to none.

Moreover, Mike holds a diverse array of certifications, including Firearms Training Instructor, Master Peace Officer License, Mental Health Officer, Secret Security Clearance, and Advanced Accident Investigation and Reconstruction, underscoring his readiness to tackle the complex challenges facing our community.
